David was one of those people who always made you feel welcome and knew how to bring people together.  When I was sad he would make me laugh, when we were out he would make me dance :).  He was a rare spirit who lived in the moment and spread a great deal of happiness.  Though I havn't seen him in a while, the world seems a bit less vibrant.  He will be missed. My Dear Cousin  / Tim O'Neill (cousin)
I have been overwhelmed by the support and kind reflections in memory of David.  I have many fond memories of my cousin.  My memories are consistent with what I have read over the last few days on this website.  David was born with a disability that he not only would not let keep him from his dreams,he used it to fulfill his dreams.  If David was not born deaf he would not have encountered in life all of the people who loved him so much.  His school days were always special memories for him.  His days at the Gap enabled him to meet so many wonderful friends that he always spoke about fondly.  David lived with our family in Indiana in 1991.  He was so much fun to have around and he had many dreams and goals for his life.  His smile was contagious and his love for kids and animals was one of his most endearing qualities.  We miss you David!  I choose to remember my cousin for his passion for life, love for people and kind heart.  You remain in my prayers and I pray for all of his friends and family.  Tim O'Neill Close

FOND MEMORIES OF DAVID  / Dorothy Spotts (Co-Worker and Friend )
David and I worked together for many years at the Gap.    David experienced many untimely deaths as I had and because of this I felt a special connection with him. He was like a brother.  We picked on one another daily as brothers and sisters do and many times he told me I was a "pain in his butt."  My favorite day to work with him was of course April Fools Day.  I got him every year.  He was always such a good sport about it. I will forever think of him on that day.  I have never worked with anyone who was as much and maybe even more of a  a perfectionist as I am when it came to merchandising. He was the best at what he did.  No one has ever come close to filling his shoes. David was always put together.  He was the best dressed! For anyone who didn't have the opportunity to have lunch with David you missed out on seeing him use at least 10 ketchup packets with his fries. I have so many wonderful memories of him that I will forever treasure.  It was an honor knowing him and having the privilege of working with him for so long. His spirit will live on at the Gap.

David my heart is saddened that you felt so hopeless and alone.  May you now feel God's unconditional love and the warm loving embrace of your loved ones who left this earth before you.
Rest in Peace. Close

Forever Missed  / Michael Matt (Friend)
Dave was an amazing guy. He was always happy and always tried to make everyone around him happy. I remember a 2 week trip to Montana with Dave, Doug, myself, Randy and the kids. All of us piled into a van and drove from Rochester to Montana. I have to say that it is probably the most interesting and enjoyable trip that I have ever been on in my 30 years. I think we all had a great time and I know that Dave had a great time.

I moved to San Diego about 3 years ago and had lost contact with a lot of my friends in Rochester including Dave. I was lucky enough to see him in January of this year. I finally got back to Rochester after two and a half years of being gone. Though I didn’t get to spend much time with him it was still great to see him and his big smile when I saw him.

There are countless other memories that I have of Dave but those two stick out the most.

I was lucky enough to become friends with Dave through Dave Kidder his best friend for years. I am lucky to have know Dave Adams he was an amazing person and friend and I hope that he is happy where ever he maybe.

Dave, you will be FOREVER MISSED all you friends.

I first met David when I was at the mall with some friends, and one of my friends wanted to introduce me to the cute deaf guy he had a crush on at the Gap. I then got to know him better through Sig Nu and Tri Sig events - and through the bars. He was a sweetheart. He always had a smile on his face, he cared about everyone. In retrospect, I remember him always being too hard on himself and trying too hard to be happy, I guess even more so than any of us realized. David - you truly believed in the life of love, walked in the way of honor, and served in the light of truth. I am a better person for having known you. We miss you, bro.

David, I felt so lucky to have met you because you are a great guy to be around. When I learned your passing, I was so shocked and speechless. It's hard for me to grasp your death. You have just a charming personality with a great smile. You have the ablitity to put people at ease. I miss you already. You are always will be within my heart forever. I will see you in another life as I'm sure. I love you. from Robert Williams, NY, NY

It's hard to believe that Dave is gone forever, but I appreciated his charisma since I first met Dave in 1986 or 1988.  We shared our memories of how much fun we had in our old times.  His spirit is always in our hearts.  May Dave rests in peace.  Dave, I love you!
